Window Cleaning - Reducing Risk, Health and Safety
MPW London Window Cleaners Ltd fully comply with all legal obligations and treat safety as the most important issue within the business. A comprehensive risk assessment is carried out as part of the preparation for each contract and is provided for you before window cleaning work starts.
Our experienced staff undergo rigorous training when they join the company and then regularly throughout their employment.
Our policies and procedures are also audited annually by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). The HSE say that every year on average two window cleaners die and many more are seriously injured as a result of falls from ladders. MPW London Window Cleaners Ltd are proud that they have had no serious injuries throughout the time they have been operating.
In keeping with The Work at Height Regulations 2005, MPW London Window Cleaners Ltd avoids the use of ladders wherever possible.
MPW London Window Cleaners Ltd’s first choice is the Reach ‘n’ Wash system using water fed poles. We also utilise latchway systems, abseiling and platforms where appropriate.
Did you know that it is the owner of the premises who is responsible for ensuring that any work undertaken complies with Health & Safety legislation? If your contractor is using ladders, then you have to have ladder ties fixed to buildings above two stories (with installation carried out by registered contractors). These fixings will also have to be checked and recorded by an approved examiner.
